LED signs for your wheels

TiretagzYou might have seen those Frisbees™ with the single row of flashing LEDs which spell out a word when the Frisbee is thrown through the air. These bolt-on gadgets for your car's rims operate on the same principle, allowing you to spell out a static or animated message or image on your wheels. We see an untapped advertising market ...

Cars have been described as the new jewellery and these little numbers certainly have plenty of bling. Images appear to glow from the wheels of your car through a process known as ‘persistence of vision”. As the unit rotates, the LED's transmit thousands of light pulses every millisecond that in turn produces whatever image you have programmed the unit to display.

Created using technology originally developed for Indy car racing in the USA, and legal in the UK, Tire Tagz are easy to install. Using complex electronic circuitry and high frequency LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) to create cool patterns, images, words and even animations within the wheels of your car while you drive.

Each unit is securely attached to the centre of the wheel and can only be removed using a special alum key. Powered by slim 3V batteries, the circuitry “learns” its position on the wheel at all times using IR (infra red) emitters and receivers and a reflective strip that is attached easily to the brake caliper. This allows TireTagz to create the illusion of an image remaining static within the wheel even when it is rotating at high speeds.
